We tested the counter with mixed Chinese–English documents, emoji-heavy social posts and pure code snippets, then verified totals against Python and JavaScript string length functions.
We verified that CJK punctuation (,。!?;:) is counted separately from ASCII punctuation — the most common source of confusion in mixed-language text.
Byte count was checked against UTF-8 encoders using Chinese, Arabic, Thai and emoji input.
専門性 — カウントの仕組み
Each character is matched against Unicode script ranges: CJK Unified Ideographs for Chinese characters, Fullwidth Forms for CJK punctuation, ASCII ranges for English letters and punctuation, and Unicode decimal digits for numbers. Paragraphs are counted by line breaks. Byte count is the UTF-8 byte length of the string.
権威性 — 基準と参考文献
Unicode script definitions come from the Unicode Standard published by the Unicode Consortium; UTF-8 byte length follows RFC 3629.
Emoji, combining marks and characters outside the ranges above are included in the total but are not broken out separately. Byte count reflects UTF-8 only — GBK, Shift-JIS and UTF-16 will give different numbers.
